The Embodied Yoga Principles (EYP) teacher training is a well-structured, intense and pragmatic course in Embodied Yoga for people wishing to grow personally and use EYP professionally. You may be interested in EYP teacher training for one or more of several reasons.

Apply if you would like:

  • a deep dive into self-awareness and personal growth 

  • to develop new aspects of your yoga practice & teaching, that's deep yet practical 

  • to use elements of EYP to psychologically enrich your own yoga classes and help students get their learning "off the mat"

  • to teach dedicated EYP classes

  • to join a supportive dynamic international community 

  • to learn postures that can be used as part of coaching & training outside of yoga 

  • to have fun learning something new and unique

  • It consists of four days, some pre-coursework (mostly watching videos)

  • and personal and teaching practice afterwards if you wish

The training is as much about developing as a person as it is about picking up new techniques and the principles themselves, so you can practice EYP in your own creative way. 

Because Embodied Yoga is a set of principles rather than a style, it can add a new dimension to any approach to yoga practice from yin yoga to viniyasa flow, and be used creatively. 

The training is not to be taken lightly as involves some work and much personal challenge. It will be deep, fun, personally and professionally enriching, but not all easy. 

We have an application process including informal interview with a lead trainer. It is for people who have already completed at least 200 hr yoga teacher training. As the course can be emotionally and psychologically challenging, it is not suitable if you have had a recent major life change or are having acute mental health issues.

Intro to EYP Teacher Training

Workshop for yoga teachers who would like to experience the depth that EYP can bring to their teaching, with Jamie Abrams and Karin van Maanen, both senior Embodied Yoga Principles (EYP) teachers and teacher trainers. Embodying the Summer Solstice

Workshop with Jamie Abrams and Karin van Maanen, both senior Embodied Yoga Principles (EYP) teachers. In this workshop we'll explore how it is to embody the summer and set some intentions for the second half of the year.

This workshop is suitable for yoga practitioners of all levels. The physical yoga is not difficult. EYP invites us to go to a deeper reflective level with our practice and take part in inquiry with other practitioners to gain insight, and have fun. It is community spirited and we learn from each other through interaction and discussion.

About the EYP Teacher Training

Super Sleep Yoga

Vanquish sleeplessness, interrupted sleep and insomnia with yoga, mindful practice and better daily habits. You’ll learn how to power down your nervous system to get more potent rest and sleep, whether you suffer with sleeplessness from time-to-time or long term.

Jamie will share with you the highly acclaimed Super Sleep Yoga Sequence by Lisa SanFillipo, which addresses the top five things your body needs to get to sleep more easily and finally have a good night’s rest. 

This worksop will be both experiential and exploratory with lecture and yoga practice. 

What you will learn:
- Bedtime Yoga - The Super Sleep Sequence - 15 minute yoga practice before bed
- Morning Wake-up Yoga - Mop up any sluggishness to start your day fresh
- Power Down ‘rest packets’ - Yoga based secret weapons for sustainable energy all day long
- Daily habits that will optimise your sleep, based on the patterns that are natural to our bodies and brains
- Sleep Saboteurs and Rest Wreckers - knowledge about our circadian rhythms, what you need to know that helps you sleep better at night.

Please bring a notebook and pen with you, bolsters, blankets and any props you might have. 

This introductory workshop to help you regain and begin retraining your body to rest and sleep well. However, you can receive ongoing support from Jamie as she offers individual follow-up sessions to workshop participants at a special rate.

EMBODIED YOGA PRINCIPLES WORKSHOP

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25
10:00-12.30pm and 1.30-4.00pm

Full day or half day spaces available

Embodied Yoga Principles (EYP), originated by Mark Walsh, is a pragmatic way of making yoga more meaningful and relevant to our daily lives. EYP will help you reframe your thinking about the way you practice yoga and why you practice yoga. It addresses what is truly important to you adding a deep psychological layering to your practice. Your body does not lie. How you show up on our mat is envitably how you show up in your life

This workshop will be particularly useful for yoga teachers, teachers, therapists, coaches, and of course yoga practitioners who have a basic grounding in posture work. This is not a typical yoga workshop – expect to be inspired, laugh a lot and gain some (possibly deep) insights into your own physical/psychological patterns, but in the process expect to be challenged. The day will include sharing experiences with others, group work and partner work. 

There will be many familiar aspects to this practice and some very new ones too. However, this work can be potentially more triggering than a traditional yoga class. If you've recently experienced a bereavement, divorce or any other tricky life situation then please contact Jamie before booking to discuss.

EYP is nondogmatic, nontranscendental and nonatheltic. It is yoga for your life not just your hamstrings...

Cost: €35 for each workshop, or €65 for both.
